Join Queer Poetry Collective for their first ekphrastic poetry workshop, where we will write in response to Debjani Banerjee's exhibition, Jalsaghar.
Meaning 'The Music Room' in Bengali, the exhibition is an immersive, multi-sensory backdrop to examine culture dissonance and perspective.
Her music room considers transformation and draws on the ancient and contemporary musical traditions she grew up with.
It’s shaped by myths and memories, from late-night Tagore songs at family gatherings to the Bauls’ folk songs. Importantly, for Banerjee it also represents a space for cultural expression, collaboration and intimacy.
We'll do live writing and sharing throughout!
